Workplace Safety Awards

Safety and Health conference 2020The annual Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards (GWSA) provides recognition for companies based on best practices for eliminating workplace injuries and illnesses and salutes those who have made safety and health a top priority. While that award focuses on the organization as a whole, the Everyday Safety Hero Award looks to highlight individuals making a significant impact in safety and health within the organization.

The awards ceremony will take place on February 28 as part of the 2024 Indiana Safety and Health Conference & Expo.

The Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards recognize workplaces that have made employee safety and health a deep-rooted component of their culture. The award provides acknowledgment to companies based on outreach, education, innovations and partnerships.

Everyday Safety Hero Award

Is there someone in your organization that you or your team view as a champion of workplace safety and health excellence? The Everyday Safety Hero Award was designed to shine a light on exactly that person! The nominee is not required to be a safety and health professional, but rather any individual contributing, participating and impacting workplace safety and health on the front lines. If you would like to nominate an everyday hero from your organization click the link above to fill out the application.

The Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards are open to all organizations, regardless of size or number of workers affected. All Hoosier businesses, unions, municipalities, schools, service organizations, nonprofit organizations or individuals are eligible to apply for the awards. To qualify, a company must be deemed to be free of compliance disputes concerning all applicable local, state and federal statutes and regulations.
